Office re-furb……nightshift

Sunday, July 22nd, 2012

Just finished a fantastic Office Reburbishment project for a local charity organisation. Part of the remit was to minimise the disruption to the teams daily work load…..easy solution we did the messy, nasty work over night.

For us it was a blessing in disguise….its amazing what you can achieve in a well organised, very focussed 8 hour night time stint, no mobile phones ringing, no emails to check, twitter goes semi silent. With the help of some very loud pop music, plenty of energy food, and a ‘blitz’ approach we hit the targets and kept the workers at their desks.

re-pointing…old style

Monday, September 26th, 2011

the piccy shows the very karge side wall of a clinic in Southwick that we recentley repointed…I thibk there were around 9000 b ricks in total….that equals just over a mile of mortor to grind out! that was the easy bit.

Our ace trowel man Danny the Bricks had the lovely job of re-doing the pointing and just to make it extra challenging, we were using a non cement mix thats basically sand and lime (2 types of sand to get a perfect colour match)

end result a beautiful and authentic period brick wall and a very happy customer

nice!

Re-Tudoring a House!

Saturday, June 25th, 2011

A 40s house in Withdean, Brighton, built in the classic mock-tudor style was in dire need of care and attention – let’s call it ‘re-tudoring’. So the iCan team set to work!

We removed all the old timbers and re-cut beautiful new ones to suit; we repaired and painted the masonry, and fitted the new timbers with screws and plugs rather than old rusty nails.

The customer is now very happy with their fully re-tudored home – and we have a new word for the dictionary!
